Yarns. Threads. Fabric. Silk. Wool. Cotton. Dyes. Paint. Beads. These, & many more, are all part of the fiber artists’ garden.  Throw in with those lots of colour & inspiration mixed with a few memories & you have an endless array of art pieces to create.  I grew up in Australia where the colours are vivid.  My love of these colours influence everything I do, whether it be creating a garment to wear, something to hang on my wall or even decorating my house.  My world is not complete without these vivid colours as they make me smile while giving me the satisfied feeling of contentment. After all, don’t we create art in order to have something to feel good about.

“After the Rain” shows some of these vivid Australians colours of the outback. After a heavy rainstorm, the desert becomes alive with flowers, such as my favourite, the Sturt Desert Pea. It is hard to imagine that from something so harsh, comes something so beautiful.
